Race Day Instructions

To be updated later.

50K Text Directions

Start on bridge .3 miles below the brushy creek day use area, go 2.5 miles straight on gravel road and turn right onto the orange trail. Go about three miles (about a mile into the trail, you will bypass the owl creek horse camp; bear to the right away from the camp; there will be flags on race day) and you go straight across the same gravel road (first aid station there, about 6 miles).  Go about 2 more miles and the race forks.  Go to the right into a flood plain, cross 2 little creeks (should not get your feet wet here unless there has been a recent big rain) and go straight up the hill.  Half way up the hill there is a trail to the left that you do not take.  You come back that way later in the race. At the top of the hill, you veer to the right, go a ways, and cross a green field.  On the other side of the green field, the trail becomes double track for about a mile (this is the only double track, the rest is single track). Then there will be a 90 degree turn to the left. (If you go straight, you hit the gravel road in less than a mile with no aid station, so turn around and come back)  Cross the gravel road, go ˝ mile and turn left. This is the 2 mile concurrent section that leads to aid stations 2/4. At the aid station, turn right onto the trail (do not cross the gravel road the first time) and proceed down the hill, enter the gravel road to just cross the bridge, and then go back up a steep hill.  In 4 miles you cross a double track at aid station 3.  Run 2 miles till you cross the yellow creek (you get wet feet here), ˝ mile back up the hill and turn right and run the 2 mile concurrent section again.  At aid station 2/4 go straight across the gravel road (if you take the trail to the right again, you will come to the bridge again, which is bad, so turn around and go back up the hill), downhill for 2 miles, and cross the same 2 small creeks at the flood plain where the 25k and 50k separate. Veer to the right after crossing the creeks and you have 4 miles of slightly uphill back to the gravel road (last aid station). Turn right on the gravel road and finish in 2.8 miles at the day use area.

It is a lollipop course, a stick with a circle on the end with the circle being the orange (owl creek) horse trail and the stick being the gravel road, which is run in both directions.
